Sesame Street is a place where kids, adults and furry puppet monsters all live together as they learn their abc and how to count and play.
The puppets have different characters, like Big Bird and Elmo are quite curious, or Bert and Oscar can both be grumpy. But they all pretty much get along.

There have been some main human characters too, like Gordon and Bob. They are often there to help the puppets learn about things that come up during their day.
And it isn't just humans and puppets either, there are some well-known animated characters too, like Cecille the dancing orange ball (who can change into other shapes) or Teeny Little Super Guy, a guy on a plastic cup who helps solve problems.
Snuffleupagus (Snuffy for short) was originally Big Bird's imaginary friend. Although Snuffy is 7ft tall and 12ft wide.
A few other main characters included Ernie, Grover, Telly, Zoe and Slimey.
A lot of the muppet characters, like Kermit often appeared in Sesame Street as creator of the puppets for both series was Jim Henson.
