A classic line often quoted from the show is "and I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for those meddling kids".
Scooby's best friend is Shaggy, who always is up for a large snack along with his pal (who enjoys a good scooby snack himself). They often are seen eating whilst Fred, Daphne and Velma bravely go off to search for the ghost or mystery they are trying to solve.
Despite being afraid of ghosts, Scooby and Shaggy are usually the ones who run into them first out of the gang.
You might not know this, but Shaggy's first name is Norville (no wonder he goes by Shaggy).
Later in the series, Scooby's nephew, Scrappy Doo was introduced. Even though he's just a pup, he's lots braver than his big old uncle and even had his own catchphrase "puppy power!". Did you know they are both great danes?
If you've watched The Jetsons, you may have noticed that both Astro and Scooby use r's when they talk, like saying "I ruv roo" instead of "I love you". Both were voiced by Don Messick.
