The first TV series of Power Rangers was all the way back in 1993 and was called Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and was based on a Japanese show called Super Sentai.
A lot of the actors playing the Rangers were either trained martial artists or gymnasts.

During the different shows within the Power Rangers history, the main Rangers have usually been black, blue, red, pink and yellow. With the pink and yellow rangers most often being females.
The Power Rangers franchise was made by the same company (Saban) that also made Digimon, before it was sold to Disney.
As of 2013, there were over 20 seasons of Power Rangers across 17 shows, and a couple of movies, including Mighty Morphin Power Rangers (1993-1996) and Power Rangers Samurai (2011-2012).
There are also future shows planned, such as Power Rangers Dino Charge, which will be released in 2015 (who doesn't love dinosaurs).
Most series had their own baddies that the Rangers had to battle against. Some of the main ones were Rita Repulsa and Lord Zedd, Dark Specter, Queen Bansheera and the Machine Empire.
The Power Rangers Ninja Storm show was a little bit different from the others in the series. Like there were only three main Rangers, and in this one, the female is the Blue Wind Ranger (usually it was the yellow or pink Ranger). The main baddie was Lothor.
